Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis caused by S. pneumoniae, non-beta-lactamase-producing H. influenzae, or Moraxella catarrhalis. Acute otitis media caused by S. pneumoniae, H. in-fluenzae (including beta-lactamase-producing strains), and M. catarrhalis. Pharyngitis or tonsillitis due to Streptococcus pyogenes. Acute, uncomplicated urethral and cervical gonorrhea caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae (including penicillinase-producing strains). Acute, uncomplicated anorectal infections in women due to N. gonorrhoeae (including penicillinase-producing strains). Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections due to Staphylococcus aure-us (including penicillinase-produc-ing strains) or S. pyogenes. Uncomplicated UTIs (cystitis) due to Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, or Staph-yloccus saprophyticus. Contraindications: Hypersensitiv-ity to cephalosporins. Use in infants < 1 month of age.
