General

1. Recurrent aphthous stomatits may be indicative of a systemic infection. Patients should be evaulated for

D systemic conditions if the stomatitis has not healed within 10 days. Client/Family Teaching

1. Apply paste as soon as ulcers appear; rinse mouth thoroughly and use after each meal and at bedtime.

2. Place a small amount of paste on fingertip and gently dab onto each oral ulcer.

3. Wash hands after applying; avoid contact with eyes and wash promptly if eye contact occurs.

4. Continue to apply paste until healing takes place. Report if pain or ulcers persist after 10 days.
