1. Document type, onset, and characteristics of symptoms.
2. Note any previous experiences with these antibiotics. Discontinue at the first sign of skin rash or other allergic manifestations. Hypersensitivity reactions may occur even following the first dose
3. Assess for soft tissue or extremity injury; note any instability, pain, or swelling.
4. If receiving anticoagulants and theophyllines, monitor closely as quinolones can cause increased drug levels with toxic drug effects, including increased bleeding or seizures.
