Inhalation Solution Bronchodilation

Adults and children over 6 years of age: 1 inhalation of the 1% solution (of the base); may be repeated after 1-2 min.

• IM, IV, SC Bronchodilation using the solution (1:1,000).

Adults: 0.3-0.5 mg SC or IM repeated q 20 min-4 hr as needed; dose may be increased to 1 mg/dose. Infants and children (except premature infants and full-term newborns): 0.01 mg/kg (0.3 mg/m2) SC up to a maximum of 0.5 mg/dose; may be repeated q 15 min for two doses and then q 4 hr as needed.

Bronchodilation using the sterile suspension (1:200). Adults: 0.5-1.5 mg SC. Infants and children, 1 month-12 years: 0.025 mg/kg SC; children less than 30 kg: 0.75 mg as a single dose.

Anaphylaxis. Adults: 0.2-0.5 mg SC q 10-15 min as needed, up to a maximum of 1 mg/dose if needed. Pediatric: 0.01 mg/kg (0.3 mg/m2) up to a maximum of 0.5 mg/dose; may be repeated q 15 min for two doses and then q 4 hr as needed. • Autoinjector, IM

First aid for anaphylaxis. The autoinjectors deliver a single dose of either 0.3 mg or 0.15 mg (for children) of epinephrine. In cases of a severe reaction, repeat injections may be necessary.

Vasopressor. Adults, IM or SC, initial: 0.5 mg repeated q 5 min if needed; then, give 0.025-0.050 mg IV q 5-15 min as needed. Adults, IV, initial: 0.1-0.25 mg given slowly. May be repeated q 5-15 min as needed. Or, use IV infusion beginning with 0.001 mg/min and increasing the dose to 0.004 mg/min if needed. Pediatric, IM, SC: 0.01 mg/kg, up to a maximum of 0.3 mg repeated q 5 min if needed. Pediatric, IV: 0.01 mg/kg/5-15 min if an inadequate response to IM or SC administration is observed.

Cardiac stimulant. Adults, intracardiac or IV: 0.1-1 mg repeated q 5 min if needed. Pe-diatric, intracardiac or IV: 0.005-0.01 mg/kg (0.15-0.3 mg/m2) repeated q 5 min if needed; this may be followed by IV infusion beginning at 0.0001 mg/kg/min and increased in increments of 0.0001 mg/kg/min up to a maximum of 0.0015 mg/kg/min.

Adjunct to local anesthesia. Adults and children: 0.1-0.2 mg in a 1:200,000-1:20,000 solution.

Adjunct with intraspinal anesthetics.

Adults: 0.2-0.4 mg added to the anesthetic spinal fluid.
