Asthma.

Beclovent. Adults: 2 inhalations (total

Bof 84 mcg beclomethasone) t.i.d.-q.i.d. In some clients, 4 inhalations (168 mcg) b.i.d. have been effective. Do not exceed 20 inhalations (840 mcg) daily. Pediatric, 6-12 years: 1-2 inhalations (42-84 mcg) t.i.d.-q.i.d. In some, 4 inhalations (168 mcg) b.i.d. have been effective. Do not to exceed 10 inhalations (420 mcg) daily. Dosage has not been determined in children less than 6 years of age.

Vanceril. Adults: 2 inhalations (total of 168 mcg) b.i.d. In those with severe asthma, start with 6-8 inhalations/day and adjust dose downward as determined by client response. Do not exceed 10 inhalations (840 mcg) daily. Children, 6-12 years: 2 inhalations (168 mcg) b.i.d. Do not exceed 5 inhalations (420 mcg) daily. Dosage has not been determined in children less than 6 years of age.

NOTE: Vanceril DS can be used once daily for treatment of asthma.

In clients also receiving systemic glucocorticosteroids, beclometha-sone should be started when client's condition is relatively stable. • Nasal Aerosol or Spray

Allergic or nonallergic rhinitis, Prophylaxis of nasal polyps. Adults and children over 12 years: 1 inhalation (42 mcg) in each nostril b.i.d.-q.i.d. (i.e., total daily dose: 168-336 mcg). If no response after 3 weeks, discontinue therapy. Maintenance, usual: 1 inhalation in each nostril t.i.d. (252 mcg/day). For nasal polyps, treatment may be required for several weeks or more before a therapeutic effect can be assessed fully. Two sprays of the double-strength product (Vancenase AQ 84 mcg Double Strength) are administered once daily.

Vancenase AQ Forte may be used once daily for treatment of rhinitis.
