Diffuse Growth Pattern

There is diffuse infiltration of the whole dermis with or without epidermotropism. Both the band-like feature of T-cell pattern and the nodular feature of B-cell pattern are lacking, even though the macroscopic correlates are usually large nodules or tumors. The cells are usually medium to large size. This pattern is typically seen in highly proliferative large B- or T-cell lymphomas or in non-lymphoid proliferations such as histiocytic tumors (Fig. 4).
