Staining for lysozyme and myeloperoxidase usually shows positivity in skin lesions of differentiated AML subtypes but is often negative in AML without maturation (Fig. 3) (14). Staining for naphthol AS-D chloroacetate-esterase is variable. In some cases, it is seen in most cells, while other cases show only a week or negative staining. The neoplastic cells usually express CD43, CD45, HLA-DR, and CD45RO. Staining for CD68 and CD74 shows positive reaction in up to 10% of neoplastic cells (14).
