Framing clinically relevant hypotheses

Trials centres create channels for receiving and developing ideas for new trials and, if appropriate, putting them to the test within a relevant programme.

Ideas for new trials can arise from anyone within the medical research community, from the results of ongoing or recently completed trials, from other clinical research such as phase I and phase II studies, from meta-analyses, and from meetings of experts and patient-advocacy groups organized by the centre for the purpose of identifying the questions that most urgently need to be answered.
