Active bacterial infection: nafcillin 5002000 mg IV every 6 hours for 1-5 days, depending on therapeutic response; then dicloxacillin 500 mg PO 4 times daily for 10-21 days, depending on therapeutic response; pediatric patient: 100-200 mg per kg IV per day in 4 divided doses for 15 days, depending on therapeutic response; then dicloxacillin 250 mg PO 4 times daily for 10-21 days, depending on therapeutic response; incision and drainage of fluctuant abscesses; fluconazole for active candidiasis; cyclosporine; prophylaxis: cimeti-dine: 20-40 mg per kg PO 3-4 times per day; ascorbic acid: 500 mg PO per day; antibacterial soaps used 1-2 times per day
