Anti-infectives to manage bacterial infections. Examples: Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim, Septra), ciprofloxacin hydrochloride (Cipro)

Acetaminophen; mild narcotics

Treatment based on bacterial sensitivity, as well as the ability of the antibiotic to concentrate in the urinary system. Course of treatment is at least 1-4 wk.

Relieve pain
